Screen of remote never shows on primary
« on: March 28, 2009, 12:01:36 AM »
The remote system is an Intel IMac running 10.4
The primary is an Intel MBP running 10.5

I've setup the firewall ports on the IMac
The MBP is autoconfigured

When I mouse to the edge to control the IMac, I get the "controlling remove system" logo in the center of the MBP, but I never see the screen of the IMac.

Any idea as to what might be the cause to this problem?

This is the expected behavior.  You are not supposed to see it, unlike a VNC/Screen Sharing program.  Teleport allows you to remotely control the other computer, somewhat like adding an additional monitor.

I'd hoped for a remote control application where i would see the screen of the remote system.

Thanks for the reply

Those apps are fortunately a dime a dozen.  Apple includes one in 10.5 called screen sharing. Click on a mac in the finder and you can click share screen if that mac has it enabled in the sharing preference pane.  Otherwise, you can find it in /System/CoreServices/.  If you don't like that Google Timbuktu Pro or VNC for other options.
