It's been 20 minutes, I've rebooted the slave, reconnected the master keyboard/mouse, and tried ctrl alt shift esc on both my laptop keyboard and external.

I just don't feel having to power off my mac due to this glaring of a software bug is worth it. This is pretty bad.
