Keyboard just stopped working on a slave machine
« on: November 18, 2011, 03:59:14 PM »
Not sure how to make it come back on. I've restarted teleportd on both machines multiple times. I've even restarted the host. Any ideas ?

Having the same issues, anyone has a fix for this? The only resolution I have found is by rebooting the master.

I've just had the same issue with 1.1.2a.  I could teleport to the slave machines and navigate with mouse, but any keyboard activity just gave me the beep on the master machine indicating unaccepted input.

Thanks to this message, I rebooted the master machine and it's working now.  (I did experience the problem that teleport came back up inactive after the reboot though).

I'm occasionally having the same issue as the users above, but I think I've made a discovery which relates this issue to Safari! I haven't quite got a consistent workaround yet which doesn't involve closing Safari, but consistently every time I quit Safari on the master computer, the problem seems to vanish (ie. keyboard control on slave computer is restored). On occasion, I have been able to click around in various text fields, hide Safari, or bounce around in different applications, and the problem will go away, but again, not consistently. Does anyone know if this problem has been resolved in future releases, and/or if it is being worked on? I do have somewhat older OS's which I would love to restore. Teleport is so integrated into our daily workflow that I would be willing to pay for an updated version. Here are my current specs:

Master Computer:
iMac 2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
OS 10.5.8 (Leopard)
Safari 5.0.6
Teleport 1.0.1

Slave Computer:
Mac Mini 1.42 GHz PowerPC G4
OS 10.4.11 (Tiger)
Teleport 1.0.1

As a side note, I've tried upgrading Teleport before on one or both of these computers (memory is a bit foggy), but at the time, I remember that the results were not satisfactory, so I downgraded back to the previous version. Aside from the occasional restart (off/on) of the preference pane, this has been my only issue with Teleport.

Any and all assistance/advice is appreciated.

Hi,

in my case the problem sometimes occurs when i open our jira portal in a chrome browser on the master. On the slave i get only the "beep" on any key press. Closing the jira chrome tab helps and the slave is responding to keypresses again, no reboot is needed. It's not really reproduceable, sometimes it happens and most times not.
Maybe you get some hint out of my post.
