Cusor moves on both screen with 1.1
« on: September 22, 2011, 08:25:23 AM »
Hello,

I just installed Teleport 1.1 on Mac Os 10.6.8, and I am experiencing a weird behavior. The mouse does switch to the slave, but the cursor quite often stay visible also on the master, and moves in parallel with the slave.

Thanks for your help,

Got the same behavior when controlling a 10.6.8 MacBook Pro with my 10.7.1 iMac, both have teleport 1.1

I get the same behavior with cursers moving on both machines as well, but more seriously, I am often getting a disconnect between the slave and master machines. The Teleport settings will suddenly change from "Activate Teleport" being active to being unactivated (unchecked) on either one or both machines in the Teleport preferences. This is very annoying and a serious problem to getting work done.

I have not noticed any pattern of when one or both machines become inactive, except that I am using the machines. They are not asleep.  Thank you for your continuing development of Teleport.

I have the same problem. Usually the cursor isn't immediately visible on both screens, but after a bit of idle time, the cursor appears on both screens and moves in sync.

Is it better with version 1.1.2?

No. I have a Mac mini and an iMac, both running Mountain Lion 10.8.2. Teleport does some unusual things:

1- on my iMac, the Teleport preference pane gives an error: "Could not load teleport preference pane." - sometimes a restart works around it but this is temporary. It always comes back. When I am working, this restart is not an option and I have to use the keyboards and mouse of each machine to control the two machines (Teleport not functioning at all).

2- I also experience a sudden parallel set of cursors, where I think I am controlling one Mac when I am actually controlling the other Mac. - my workaround is to force the parallel cursor to the other screen (so both are located on the same screen) then, they join back into one. Then, I can move between the two Macs like normal.

These things happen frequently and unexpectedly. Very inconvenient. I really wish these issues can be fixed.

Is there a way to ensure that Teleport works on both machines?
Is there a way to make sure that everything (including ports) are open and working?
Is there a way to find out if any other program or security feature is blocking Teleport on my Macs?
