Not sure if you ever figured this out but for anyone who has a similar problem as this, here's my take on it. When I used teleport over wireless sometimes the mouse was jerky with a slight lag. I turned off wireless and plugged both machines into ethernet and it worked far better with no lag whatsoever. So my guess is connecting with firewire would help as well.

I'm having this same issue. I've disabled the screensaver on the master computer but I don't really like that solution since it's nice having my computers lock themselves if I forget to do it. Please fix this!
