Teleport used to work, but doesn't anymore? Or, nothing connects? Whenever I've had a problem using Teleport, the culprit has always been that one or both Macs has lost their IP address.
To check this go to:
system preferences>network>network status
Preferably, you should see that your chosen connection is active, and may have a self assigned IP address. If it doesn't have one, highlight that connection, be it ethernet, Firewire, or however you connect the two Macs and click configure.
Under the TCP/IP tab, chose to configure IPv4 manually and type in something like
169.254.74.100 for the IP address and 255.255.255.0 for subnet. Click apply now. Do the same for the other Mac, except use a different IP -- 169.254.74.101.
