Yes - this would be great for cases where the screen saver is activated on the other machine, because then the cursor sticks on the other machine and won't come back until the screen is woken up from the keyboard. Or in cases where something goes wrong with Teleport and they cursor is stuck on the other machine. It would be great to press ESC or *something* to get teleport to let go.

Problems / Re: Firefox kills keyboard on client
« on: December 26, 2012, 04:33:05 PM »
OK, so this seems somehow related to Firefox. I was able to replicate this by using Zimbra in Firefox on the host computer, which stopped the keyboard on the client computer. I quite firefox on the host, and it went away. If I logged into my Zimbra account (webmail) I could get the keyboard to stop. I also, these forums caused the keyboard to stop. Somehow, Firefox is taking the "focus" of the keyboard, and not giving it back to teleport.

I was able to replicate this also. I don't use Firefox that often, but I had it open in the background and had even forgotten it was running. Out of nowhere, typing on the client resulted in beeps. Mouse continued to work, but no typing. Restarting teleportd on both sides didn't help. Found this thread, quit Firefox and that fixed it. Firefox had been running for a day or more. It doesn't happen immediately.

Firefox 17.0.1
Teleport 1.1.2a on both
OS X 10.7.5 on both

Problems / Re: Program suddenly stops
« on: December 19, 2012, 06:14:43 PM »
I have a similar problem: iMac late 2009 master to MacBook Pro late 2001 (both running 10.7.5). It works great most of the time, but occasionally just stops working. For example, just now both machines have been up several days, no Teleport issues, then suddenly the mouse won't return from the slave machine. Turning off teleport on the slave frees it up, but the "controlling" icon is stuck on the master so I can't click anything. Unplugging the slave from the network seems to make teleportd on the master die, so now I have access to the screen again, but everything is in a weird state where I can move the cursor but nothing responds to clicks. Eventually I have to restart both machines to make Teleport work again.

It's understandable that things can't be perfect but it would be nice to have:

a) some "escape" key on the master that will get the cursor back without mouse/cursor movement
b) a way to undo the "clicks ignored" state that can be left when Teleport crashes. I can't think of a general solution that would work if you don't happen to have a terminal window open already

General Talk / Re: Cusor moves on both screen with 1.1

I have the same problem. Usually the cursor isn't immediately visible on both screens, but after a bit of idle time, the cursor appears on both screens and moves in sync.
